Moses is a sensitive soul, and I found myself wanting to protect him in his childhood years. Gothic doesn’t feel like exactly the right word to describe this book, but melodramatic has a negative connotation, at least to me, so I’m going to stick with Gothic. I like the existential questions though and am curious to see how it unfolds. I should've stuck with reading it instead of listening. Frankly though, this animosity is largely because of the narrator of this book. The text gets repetitive and jumps from one point to another. So far, I don't think this is the best Coelho I've read yet. What did you like best about Veronika Decides to Die?
